Hockey Canada Skills Academy Support Coach – Non Teaching
Location: Sioux Lookout, ON
Effective: Immediately Rate of Pay: $25.96/hour
(Casual assignment - hours worked dependent upon program structure and registration)
Under the direction of the supervising principal, the individual will act as support to the Hockey Canada Skills Academy Teachers, both on and off the ice, with the delivery of the Sioux Lookout Hockey Canada Skills Academy programs. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, assisting with programming/planning, instruction and coaching, and overall development of the Hockey Academy program.
Ontario High School Diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license are required. The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge and experience in the delivery of a robust hockey development program, with demonstrated experience in organizing and planning hockey programs, and managing and/or coaching a hockey team. An understanding of instructional strategies and player development will be crucial. Hockey Canada coaching certifications, as well as Respect In Sport or Speak Out training will be required. The following attributes are necessary: enjoy working with children, be enthusiastic, energetic and positive; possess strong leadership skills; able to work effectively in a team environment and to coordinate and organize work. Candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
